bj74 problem solved

just thouught id let everyone know ...my problem with shudder at light load/low revs in gear is now fixed ....1 bottle of liqui moly DIESEL PERGE has done it
it has taken 4 months trying everything.
seems to be a fairly common symptom with these 13bt motors as i have seen other people discribe similar problems.
so iam glad i did not listen to toyota when they diagnosed it as the tourque converter.....so any one with any of these problems i would look at your injectors

/shudder at light load when warm
/a noticible miss between idle and 2000 revs
/feels like engine might stall when bracking
/shakes on take off

PURGE IT!

Some sort of build up in the combustion chamber? Did you get all kind of smoke during the process?

BTW, where is Makarau in relation to Auckland?

hey there moose.. small amount of black smoke when reving as per instructions on bottle nothing major......
makarau is 45 min north of auckland central/ off the kaipara coast hiway.
we have 20 acres of jungle to get in to trouble in.....

im not that mechanically minded, but purge. how do you purge?

Hi there Gooch, good to see another kiwi on board. I thought the only jungle up there was in Auckland... the urban kind.
No sorry.... sounds good, pretty typical is it, few hills, few bogs, couple of creeks?? bet you have fun anyway.
