To help with the poor lighting while backing up (especially once the tire carrier began to block half the factory backup lighting), I installed a single Rigid Dually D2 light with the 60 degree diffuser. Here are some images of the install, and the impact.
Overall, I'm very impressed with the build quality and performance of the Rigid Dually D2. While not cheap, it definitely feels very well put together.
I mounted the light on one of the CB antenna mounts on the Slee rear tire carrier:
And here are some shots of the performance.
1) Normal driving (not in reverse)--all backup lights off
2) In reverse - factory reverse lights on
3) In reverse - with a single Rigid Dually D2 with 60 degree diffuser
I have some Cree back-up light LED's on order as well, and will replace the factory bulps with those when they arrive. Interested to see if they make any further difference.
For reference, in case anyone wants to make comparisons, all comparison photos were taken at:
24mm
ISO 800
Apperture: 8.0
