I'll likely add one, my interior is blue so if you have one that matches I'd be interested. However, I'd like to solve the problem either way. I currently have the cut off solenoid disconnected b/c I know I'm getting adequate pressure.
I'm pretty sure I have a wiring issue and here is why.....
The fuel pump was previously wired directly to the battery (previous owner's set up). I obviously wasn't happy with this set up so, I found the old wiring for the internal tank pump (the current pump is an inline pump) and rewired it to...
OK guys,
I've searched and searched, but havent been able to find much info on the issue I'm having.
When my truck is at running temp, the oil light slowly illuminates, and the fuel pump (electric on my truck) cuts off, obviously causing the truck to stall.
From what I've read, if the...
Reading through this thread I don't see that anyone has provided the 79 vacuum diagram. Does anyone have one they could share? I see that there is mention of buying a factory service manual that includes the diagrams but, the FSM I have doesn't include emissions.
Thanks,
Ok guys,
I found the write up that must have been used by the PO.

I started from scratch and realized that all I needed was a new ignition control module $23 (See write up).
My 79 Hilux starting problems have been solved.
Please let me know...
Ok Guys,
I believe I'm having igniter/coil issues and wanted to see if anyone had a step by step guid to determining exactly where my problem is.
The PO put in a Accel Performance Control Module 35361, which from my research, is not made for a 79 toyota pickup.
I have intermittent starting...
Ok Guys,
I'm in need of a carb. The PO attempted a rebuild and really screws things up.
When I attempted my own rebuild it became very clear that the PO rebuilt it incorrectly. Also one of the main jets is broken.
That being said I reached out to Trollhole to see what he had to offer...
I'm going to confirm that there is an electrical issue before committing to a mechanical pump. That being said I need to track down the wiring diagram. Anyone have one?
Also, if I do decide to go mechanical I'm concerned about the positioning of the thermostat housing. I'll have to make some...
My concern is that the original was removed because of an electrical issue (something I'm not familiar with). I also have a mechanical pump off a 1980 that's not being used.
Also, the in line pump that is currently in working order is pretty rigged. I have to attach a clip to the positive...
No worries, this has been a topic in other areas as well. I have to go with the FSM on it though. When I have it in front of me I'll load an image of the page.
In the mean time, it's relative but not necessary to answer my outstanding question.
