They were starting to make a noise and then I let my girlfriend borrow the rig for a few days (she’s super hard on brakes) and the noise got worse and sounded like metal grinding on metal. I think maybe the rears has been shot for awhile and my gf finished them off for me ha!
I wasn’t able to take it in last Saturday but the noise has gone away.
Thanks again for all of the input. There’s a lot of helpful and knowledgeable people on this board.
I apologize, I’m kind of learning how to post/quote in the forum. I posted above a little earlier.
Thank you for the feedback and suggestions on my issue, though. I really appreciate it.
Thank everyone for taking the time to reply and give me some pointers.
I’m working 12 hr night shifts until this weekend so I haven’t had a chance to check the truck out or take it in. I should have some time Saturday to get it looked over, so I’ll post up what I find out.
I did start...
My rear brakes were starting to sound pretty bad, metal on metal noise, so I took them into the brake shop. They replaced the pads and rotors on the rear and the pads on the front. Now I have a new noise coming from what sounds like the driver side rear brake.
I’ve searched through threads...
Hey guys, I did a search but didn't turn up any threads that helped me out much. I'm looking for a website that has a hard copy of the FSM that I can purchase. I saw links for a pdf copy but I'd prefer to have the book. I bought one my '92 a few years ago but I've forgotten where I purchased it...
I know I can get one but I just bought the rig yesterday and didn't have any reason to purchase one before because my other rig is a '92. It's on my list of things to buy though.
Thanks for the response. I've read that you need to pull the ECM fuse and I've read that's you need to pull the EFI and not the ECM fuse. I have a '97 that I got a code for that I'm going to try and fix tomorrow when I get the parts in.
I got a CEL and got the code read at the autostore. I've read that pulling the 15 amp EFI fuse will clear the CEL. Will this also affect my radio presets or factory alarm like it does when you disconnect the battery. I assume not, but figured I'd double check.
Hey guys, my names Gerry Kelso but most people just call me Kelso. I live in Billings and have a '92 and just I just bought a '97. I'll try to grab a couple pictures to upload in the next couple days.
You can add me to the roster also. I live in Billings and have a goofy work schedule so I'm not sure how many meetings I would be able to make. I'd still like to join, though.
Hey Guys,
I bought a '92 a couple years ago and have been lurking on the mud site since then. I live in Billings so if anyone needs some help on their cruiser around here then let me know. I haven't wrenched much but I'm always willing to learn and lend a hand if someone needs it.
