the beep is part of the gear indicator light portion I thought. also does you HDJ have a cable driven speedo? mine does, and LX's are electrically driven. I have 3 clusters at home and all are very different even though they are all from 80's
while I can't address all your questions, I can say that the R12 seals will be okay with R134a. outside of draining tall the oil. and installing new service ports, that's pretty much all that's required for retrofit. it's also a great idea to replace the receiver/dryer when you open the system...
hey Dennis, there is a door in the heater box that blocks off airflow through the heater core. that can bind causing a no-heat issue. you can access the linkage by removing the stereo. a quick check to make sure it's moving.
as well as the body mounts, there are other parts connecting the body to frame. the steering system, fuel tank and filler neck, steering system, shifters. don't just start lifting without looking
