Two weeks of ownership + no work + higher price = flipping
Nearly one year of ownership + $8k in improvement + a no-bull**** assessment of what was done ≠ flipping
I don't have nearly enough money to buy this rig, but I play one on TV.
This could be the perfect platform for a luxo-soft-roader build...

I have a '05 2WD and I had a '00 Tundra 4x4, both with 4.7 iForce V8s. Both were great, but not near that many miles.
However, some of the companies I work with have fleet 2WD Tundras with 4.7s, and I consistently see them hit 400k or 500k without needing full rebuilds or replacements. These...
The C505 is the most underrated African ExPo vehicle there is. Any poopflinger can go Cairo to Cape Town in a Land Cruiser. But to do it in a Peugeot takes real chutzpah.
Total fantasy truck. Imagine how versatile that would be--a combination of the 1st gen 4Runner and the FJ Cruiser. Drive it as a single cab long bed, an extended cab short bed, or have a removable "troopy" high-roof top that reaches all the way aft. The shiz.
Jerry Quiza at Enterprise Imports in Canoga Park builds 4Runner Hilux conversions, only they're body-molded, color-matched and classy as hell. No ghetto fab bull****. I think even the rear windows still slide up and down.
The EPA stats on the 2.7 Tacomas are what made me call bull**** on most EPA stats. We have fleet Tacomas in 2WD, with the 2.7 I4, as well as the 3.3 and 3.4 V6 engines. The newer 2.7s consistently get less mpg loaded in city conditions. But unloaded highway conditions, they get in the high 20's...
The 2.7 is one of my favorite engines. It ain't fast by any stretch of the imagination, but it's efficient, quiet, and eminently reliable. If you don't care about it being a dog, it'll serve you like one.
Am I the only one that thinks there aren't enough ute cars today? I love the idea that you can have an econo-box and a pickup, and still only have one car in the driveway.
I'd kill for one of these...
