Great, sounds like you got it done. Watch the temp. Keep monitoring hopefully you can confirm you have an engine worth running.
I do remember blowing a head gasket back in the day, for some reason it ran a hot but would not overheat. I had no clue it was a blown head gasket. First thing I...
I wouldn't be surprised if the head gasket was installed wrong. Or the head maybe not torqued correctly. Once it's back together and running you can check the oil pressure. And check it after the engine is nice and hot. I have seen them dropped oil pressure while driving them on the highway...
I had two made when I installed a 5 speed tranny. Not sure what he used but it was metric size. For me I really care less as long it close enough and balanced. That was a while back...way back. It still running with'em.
I would suggest weighing your pig if go with Alcans. Give them a call and they will give you a better idea what to do and what you are getting yourself into. I have a 4" inch lift with Alcan springs. I like it but it's not for everyone. If had to do it again I think I would go wit 3" lift. I...
I like your clamps, like tell the guys at work, you can never too many hard-drive. 😉. Anyhow, you can never have too many clamps...you can always find ways to use them. Great work.
Interesting, my opinion is the Rockwell hardness on the oem is 26 for reason, it acts almost like a bushing in that you want the shaft wear faster than the gear itself. Anyhow, it will be interesting to see if the McMaster one will be as good as the oem one.
Are sure all sparkplugs are firing? The fuel fills the entire sight glass is definitely not right. You could very possibly have a couple of issues. Do the easy stuff. Good luck.
It's a cleaner for your fuel system. I have john deere mower that was missing at idle. I took out the carb and dipped in carb cleaner put it back together and it still an issue idle. I should of poured seafoam in the tank instead. Seafoam fixed my idling issue. I have several experiences where...
The idea is something is staying on when it should be off when it's not running. Relays should only be activated when they are energized. And when power is removed and no loger energized, meanwhile the the contacts stay in the closed position when they really should open. Bad wiring that is...
You take the top off the carb and see if the float is still functioning like it supposed.
Also make sure you don't have leaks on your hoses. You can use soapy spray bottle if you suspect you have bad connection at carb.
There is vendor here on mud that sells carbs, I forget who...maybe...
Great, just remember batteries have a life, you can load test them at an auto parts store after they are fully charged. Usually under normal wear and tear batteries will last 4-5 year so if you are close to that, its best to bite the bullet as they say and purchase a replacement. Good luck.
I had the same issue on the HJ45, I was lucky enough and was able to locate one at descent price. Removed and replaced, checked good.
If a gauge is not working try cleaning the connections at the cluster and at the other end. Reseating a connector maybe enough to get it going. Stuff oxidizes...
Wow, I remember paying 500 back in the day. I have seen them in the 1500 range on Craigslist. I would be more concerned if they have bondo check before you purchased it. Like the say goes, it worth what you willing to pay.
If did not know any better, I think for me the first reaction is this Land Cruiser has not been started for weeks. But I'm sure that is not the case. On my 40, normally it will turn maybe once before it starts and in between starts it will start easily. Yours almost feels like starving for...
This is also a good time to measure the thickness of the brake disk. If they need replacing this is a good time to consider it. On jobs that are my first time. I use sandwich bags and a sharpie and label everything as it comes off and numerically label the bag. Pic may help. Get a small tub to...
