Hey,
long time no see ... we cannot be traveling any more, so there ist no sense in keeping our Toyo in the barn and spend lots of money every year to keep it in perfect condition.
We decided to sell our Toyota, one of the best Expedition-Cruiser we have been able to experience so far ...
Hey lumbee1
it depence where you will be travelling. For long time expedition it will be priority keeping the truck running. And small tires will save the origninal drive train. Running 37" you will bring more force to it and might damage diffs ore birfields. To be on the save site, use...
Hello buxarin,
I did not think about any other frames, wanted to keep the 80ty stock technic in place. And I am still not shure if cutting and rewelding the 80ty frame would be a good and long lasting idea...
at least had a short brake, our winter, with very little snow and ice, has been just...
sorry guys,
haven´t been aktiv here for a long time...and have´t travelled for even longer.
Still we don´t miss it very much, to busy at home. The Toyo has to do farming work now and I wish we had build the cruiser more versatile....
thanks guys,
I ám not shure what to change ...
Maybe bulding the cabin in carbon, it will make it lighter about 150kg.
Maybe stretching the frame abut 30cm to have the space with a less wide body an cabin, using tires 9.00 and sleeping head in front,
maybe building new mounts for engine...
make me an immoral offer....Havent´t posted any pics for sometime, game watching in Poland early this year:(most pics from a fellow from the German LandCruiser Club)
Hey Henry,
if you would use 7.5 R16 and Nissan rims you might not need the widening of the fenders. Have a look throug the thread, I posted pics from another german yellow HDJ80/45 build with the Nissan rims and 9.00 tires.(that won´t fit, see pics beow in the links)
I don´t know if you...
Thanks guys
I wanted the HDJ8 engine, gearbox, axles, coilsprings and discbrakes all around.
Having travelled with a BJ45 for years I love that truck, but I got to know how much better coil spring, permanent 4wd and much more power improve the performence on track and in the sand /dunes.
We...
no wheels from Toyota anymore available...
I was lucky to get 15" rims with some missing clips from a friends J5 ...still looking for 16".
Maybe I`ll use 16" spit rims too...
I just had the clips manufaktured last year. Won´t get them from Toyota, they did deliver the original hubcabs though for a very good price...I think I bought all they had left...:D
they made the clips for me, all they needed was one original clip to start with
Kontakt | Stahl...
nice work Millas,
you won´t regret stretching the cab-body, I just needed 8cm for making the difference to sit comfortable for hours of driving
84 sloth, impressiv work too :hillbilly::wrench:
had the same problem with the front fenders when mounting the body to fit the...
it needs wheal spacers to increase the space between chains and body for full flexing...
the frame is integraded in the J4 body, here you can see parts befor the restoring the body was finished
sorry I have no pics of the tanks beeing fabricated...
Hey seeds,
no matter if you use 80, 100, or 4runner I would think over the attachment of the roof.
Doing this in the front is doing it like most others have done it,
but not doing it the way to achieve best wind stability and (sense of) space
even more lenght to climb the bed...
yes, 4 chains.
The weight of the truck is not quite balanced, the front ist about 100kg lighter then a stock 80, the rear weights more than I would like...And the chains are very heavy and I did´t wanted the weight in the back and the dirt inside.
Driving them around supplied the good weather...;)
