    Ok, so I found out, I need to put the shift lever in park and then wiggle it a little bit. So the it can recognize it is indeed in park, therefore, my question is, is there a way to improve the situation?

    I vote for 03+ as well, I had both 4 speed and 5 speed. 01 and 03, 03 is for sure much more drivable. When I had the 01, I didn't know better lol.

    LC or LX?

    I went from LX to LC, the only things I miss are memory seats and folding mirrors. I prefer LC b/c cheaper parts and service at dealership; also it is Toyota and a little understated.

    The CV boot is a wear item, the truck is 11 years old, it is normal to have a leaking CV boots.
