My current situation is not too good, but thankfully, I've parked my VDJ-200 (with AB60F transmission and JF2A transfer case) in a secure place after a steep climb.
Nothing smells bad, nor are any mechanical parts overheated or something like that, so I guess that's ok.
My problem is that...
Anybody know the part numbers to replace birfield bearings? Mine are now destroyed. I've been researching this and I can't find the info here nor in the FSM's.
I have a 1992 HZJ-80L with part-time 4wd. I'm pleasantly surprised that the Toyota birfields have the same p/n for the FZJ-80 (i.e...

Wow! I was thinking exactly the same thing while I was stuck in traffic with my HZJ-80 today! Do the 1KD-FTV swap into a HZj-105, then put on the "v8" badging from a UZJ-100 for a nice finishing touch :)
That's quite true. When my HZJ-80 bent its con rod #5 due to water ingestion, the most available second-hand part for me was one from a 1HD-T. The 1HD-T conrods were significantly bigger than the 1HZ's. And I think the 1HD-T crankshaft looked bigger too, but I didn't get to compare them...
Thanks for the reply! Since the HZJ-80 is my work truck, I had to put the actuator back to the axle again, before I thought about checking the rest of the moving parts for rust that caused the seizure. I'll work on it during this weekend's downtime and keep you all updated.
BTW...

My fr/rr diff lockers won't engage. It used to work before, until I think I broke some of its circuits because of frequent mud and water. The locker actuators, the ones on top of the diffs, do not engage, but just heat up.
I took it apart but the motor windings seemed...

I want that 1VD-FTV (4.5L, common-rail, turbo-intercooled diesel engine) with the H150 5-speed manual transmission on the 2008 Tacoma! And with the solid axle up front too! And lockers! :D

Good point your making here. That's how I modified my Hilux (http://www.pbase.com/drexx/hilux_2004) with the humble 3L engine (3.0liter, indirect injection). I installed a 2L-TE turbo system and engine head from an LC Prado for US$300, tuned down the injection pump a bit...

That's an affirmative. Just to let you know, I have the exact thing for your uncle! I have the "Feb 1990: 1PZ, 1HZ, 1HD-T Engine Repair Manual", and it's listed as Toyota publication number RM172E.

BTW, I also have the HDJ-80 repair manuals. Any specific pages I can e-mail to you?
*Is this the same uncle of yours whom I met in NV, who had a daughter who won several rodeo championships?

Ola compadre! I might be able to help you out. Do you specifically need 6 pistons & rings bought here and sent there? Or do you just the current part numbers? Monday is a holiday here so the earliest I can get back to you are on Tuesday.
HDJ-80 is what was only sold...
