The tee is at the highest point of the cooling system, so if it is topped off and sealed* the proper function of the radiator cap and overflow bottle should purge any air.
I would not use the muriatic acid. Is there a tee coupling (not factory) on the heater hose that runs over the rear top of the engine near the firewall? This is an FJ62 right?

Do you know which pistons these are- 3 + 4 ? are closest to the center of the inline 6 and could have been ‘washed’ by excess fuel draining from the carburetor.
That connection is present on both 60 and 62, red wire with yellow white stripe. Perhaps it grounds the latch in order to allow the wiper and washer to function? My rear wiper on the 60 has intermittent behavior and when I went to look at the connection it was loose- I believe you’ve helped me...
And check the sight glass window on the front of the carburetor to verify fuel is being delivered.
Edit: the fuel level should be at the mid-point of the round sight glass.
