I hand cranked my old F engine, but haven't tried with the 2F. My old 72 Datsun pickup with the 1600cc engine had a hand crank also. I started it once or twice with it.
Was working in the back yard this afternoon. Disturbed a hive of bees. Got stung a bit. Sorry. I wanted to make it to show off my "new" 1st gen Tundra.
When switching to LED's, which converter are you using?
I bought the Curt 58240 converter. I doesn't handle the tail lights, so I wired them up first. Tail lights worked perfectly.
Put in the 3-2 converter, and nothing works, except the trailer connector, not even the tail lights.
I have one just like it. Pulls easily with my 40. It's not off-road capable in the rough off-road scenario, but I have hauled mine into and out of some pretty interesting places.
Thanks for this info. I just bought a 1st gen Tundra. I went to Precision to get some miscellaneous items. The parts lady there is good (been there 27 years), but it took a week to get the items in, and it was expensive.
There is not a lot of activity in the Tundra thread. I just purchased a 2001 Tundra and have a question.
Besides cosmetics and plastic versus metal, what is the difference between the 2001-2004 tailgate handle and the 2007-2104 handle?

There is a backup camera available for the 2007-2014 Tundra that just replaces the OEM tailgate handle.
Could that be modified to fit the earlier tailgate?

Hilliard. I was back in OH for a conference, and also for a class reunion (family in Zanesville) and out of curiosity started looking at Craigslist listings.
Just bought a 2001 Tundra 4X4 (4.7 liter, automatic) in Columbus OH, and drove it back to Tucson AZ. I like it.
However, the specs (google and the dealer) say that it has a 26.4 gallon tank. Twice on the way back, the gauge was reading about as empty as it could get, and I was only able to get...
I am currently looking at several Tundras in the 2000-2005 year range. Are there any significant differences in those years, and any I should shy away from?
There are vendors selling these kits on Amazon. Any vendors preferred, or to stay away from?
Or, preferably, are there any vendors on MUD selling them?
Question. The return line is mentioned many times. Does this mean I would have to change gas tanks? I have an old tank with only one outlet, coming out of the side, and no return holes or lines.
Thanks, guys for the responses. I have one or two projects ahead of it, the first being swiping out the 3 spd for a 4 spd, but definitely will consider this seriously.
