Greetings from Vancouver Island, BC. I have just finished replacing alternator for an intermittent battery charge light. The B post (the single wire with the nut) on the old alternator looked melted. Could a corroded terminal on the main single wire cause this kind of overheating? Would a...
My 94 was running rough! Poor idle, no power, etc. Checked the FSM, did the tests, checked for leaks...nothing! Yesterday, I took my intake hose off, sprayed some sensor safe intake cleaner into the throttle body and put the hose back on. Started her up...and...she purred like a kitten, ran...
Sounds kinda simplistic, but my spare tire was loose and made a similiar noise on accel. Folks on this forum have taught me to start with the easy stuff. Without them, I never would have thought of the spare...
Something like this?

They should fit and the mounting bracket looks like it can use the...
Good morning all! I recently purchased a 2000 LX. I checked it out thoroughly with the PO before buying. I got 32 kms and the fun began. The ignition switch broke. (Fixed with help from this forum...Thanks!)
Now, the horn has stopped working and the climate control is flashing and...
Good Morning (afternoon?) all!
I took some pictures that may help to solve the 180 out issue. I hope this is not a case of flogging a dead horse.
This is how I got the bracket from Toyota.
This is the angle that the shaft is at to allow the key at the bottom to go through the...
Hi There! Thanks for the posts! I just bought a 2000 LX470. I drove about 20 miles, stopped for a coffee, and bam! Key turned, truck on but not running! Rats! I just joined the club. Getting the part through Toyota. I wonder if my 94 Cruiser has the same issue...
I just let my crusher be a crusher. Pulling lesser vehicles out of unfortunate situations. Diggin the whole cruiser aura. What goes around comes around...when it comes around...I will be glad I'm cruisin!
My 2 cents worth... Sheep skins are the only way to go. Cool in the summer...warm in the winter. I got a custom fitted pair of covers here...www.shearcomfort.com Darn good internet transaction. Very quick, high quality and great service...oh yeah, did I mention that they fit beautifully?!
My 94's remote had poor range as well. I bought a replacement Fob and the directions for synchronizing mentioned turning a small variable resistor inside the Fob. It fine tunes the transmitter's frequency. I turned the VR a little at a time and tested it. Viola! I now have 100+ yards range on...
I'm going to chime in here...are you asking about locking hubs? You mention aftermarket wheels...
The Crusher is full time 4WD...no manually locking hubs like on the 60 series. So, you don't have to get out of the vehicle...
I'll go after the wires ASAP...
I've got a '94 stock with 134k miles. Engine purrs like a kitten at idle and growls appropriately when needed!
OBDI code 71...annoying as H**L
I'm getting the standard code 71 and I'm working on the diagnostics but i have a question.
Has anyone had the CEL come on after hitting a medium sized bump in the road?
I cancel the CEL and it comes back after about 20 miles, driving at 40 MPH and on a bumpy road. I hit the bump, hear a...
FWIW...mine turned out to be the spindle bushing. But, the "Cruiser Growl" was intermittent rather than constant. A differential rebuild took care of the noise. Took about 14 hours. 4 hours of wrench turning and 10 hours of cleaning greasy parts.
Hello All!
Did you fix the noise, yet?
I had a similiar problem and after much pulling of hair and gnashing of teeth, it turned out to be the spare tire...
It was low and there was just enough slack to allow it to move a little creating a soft thunk on accel and decel. Pumped up the...
