I am currently switching my 85 4runner with a 22re from the POS auto that is in it to a W56 transmission that I picked up from a 94 pickup w/ case. I am looking for clairification on flywheels from the gurus here. It appears that there is a flywheel change in 92? Can you retro fit this...

The actual "best" way to insure good transmission life and dependability is to use an Accusump type system in the transmission cooler lines. This ensures pressure and lubrication at all times even during brief moments of cavitation. But really only necessary in extreme uses.
I'll have to call bull**** on this one. As stated earlier in the thread, the early units had problems with their pumps that can be easily rectified during a build. The later 700's are gtg from the factory for most purposes. I've put out at least 5 units for serious off road & 3 in "hardcore"...
