    Cummins 6BT conversion

How's your experience with LCS? If you don't mind me asking, this must be costing you a load.. at least 10k?

Very nice. Awesome to see that you're making progress with your LC. I haven't even started with mine! Where is this shop?

    How Does a 1HZ Compare to a 2F?

http://www.ststurbo.com/home These folks make a 'remote' mounted turbo system. The turbo can be located away from the engine and further down the exhaust system which results in cooler intake charges and higher power increases. VW makes a hatch with a supercharged and turbocharged 1.4 l...

    Fj60 1hd-t

Been so long, haha sorry to bump an old thread like this. Just realized after doing a search on 1HD-T in a FJ60 that you had replied to me!! I finally bought an 87 fj60 last year. Funny story, I bought it with the intention of having it as a great body for a project diesel swap. The head...

So uh, what's with the bumper???

    Fj60 1hd-t

BTW I can attest to driving through those passes that lead to Bend, more times than I could count in fact, and there are quite a few steep climbs that would really test a swap like that out.

    Fj60 1hd-t

Wow, only 5k? You must be talking just the install, not including the cost of the motor. And that's in CDN?

    Nissan SD22

I think basing your opinion of all nissan diesel motors on your experience with one variant of a nissan diesel (the SD22) is a bit biased. To say that "nissan doesn't make good diesels" is simply opinion and should not be spouted as fact just because this is a toyota forum and we all love our...

    Best all-around diesel for fj60?

First try finding a Diesel Touraeg.. Then try finding the motor. GL to you. On the altitude: The basic rule of thumb is that ANY naturally aspirated vehicle, gasser or diesel, will have a higher percentage of power drop than a turbocharged vehicle making the same amount of power at sea...

-->Direct BJ to FJ questions: swappers inside <--

thanks. I have already read that entire thread, as well as probably every other swap thread in here. I spend a lot of time searching and reading through threads in forums. It's my "book".

-->Direct BJ to FJ questions: swappers inside <--

Funny you mention that. I'm going to a Maxima meet (hopefully) at Fry's electronics in Renton (I think?) or wherever your fry's is on Sunday.

It's true. I do love the 6. HJ to FJ very much at the top of my list as well :whoops: didn't put it in the title though.

-->Direct BJ to FJ questions: swappers inside <--

So I'm finally finishing the\\ purchase of a great looking 1987 FJ60 here in Oregon. I will now spend a lot of time (more even than I have already) researching and considering options for a diesel swap. My goal is basically converting this nice FJ60 over to a diesel, with pretty good fuel...

My Conversion (or how I spent spring '06)

Sounds like you did a great job. I am planning a similar swap into the FJ I just purchased. Need a donor BJ. How exactly did you deal with motor mounts? And on the gas tank, looking back, would it have been possible to swap the tank-etc over or is that just too much work? Wouldn't that...

    81 BJ 60 for sale

Wow, this came up fast. Pretty much right what I'm looking for, but too early!! I Don't know if I'm ready to buy the parts rig yet. I haven't even completed the purchase of the body rig yet. If you still have a hold on this when I'm done purchasing that rig later on this week, I'll see if I...

Well, let me start off my tenure by asking a stupid question:

Thanks for the heads up on good motors. I'll be out there from the 7th until the 22nd of July. From Machida, you could probably walk to Naruse. It'd be a good walk though. It's one stop from Machida to Naruse, but I forget which line.

    FJ60 at work

And THAT my friend, is why I'm selling the 2500, and getting a 60. I mean cmon, That's a perfect example of why it's a waste for me to have a big rig (GMC 2500 full size truck) when I don't need it. I can't wait to find that 60 that's out there looking for me.

Well, let me start off my tenure by asking a stupid question:

Not far! My family lives in the Naruse area, in Machida-Chi (one stop from Machida). My dad works over in Camp Zama Army Base. edit: I'd love to check out your cruiser when I'm there in July. Is it JDM? Do you have a 60?
