    speedometer generator

I have an early 1976 FJ40. I am replacing the odometer and trying to fix a jumpy speedometer. I ordered a long speedo cable and when I went to put it in, I find this generator thing on the firewall. I can't find any documentation on what the generator does (except a picture on SOR), whether...

    Repairing FJ40 roof leak

I've gotten all of the old sealant out of the gutter and decided to cut back the fiberglass so that I have a larger groove to reseal.  I am using Seam Sealer by McKanica.  My plan is to put one bead of sealant in the metal groove, and then another bead over the rivits, smoothing out the entire...

    Repairing FJ40 roof leak

Can these tanks be filled through the same filler tube (or same space) as my original, or...

    gas tank

How do these auxilary tanks attach? I presume in front of the back axel. Is clearance affected? How does the filer work? &nbsp:Does gas route over from the main tank when filling, and then get pumped back over when the main tank is empty? I noticed that the Man-a-fre tank can also be set...

    Repairing FJ40 roof leak

Richard - when you filled the gutters, they lost their original function...to channel rain water, right? Is this a problem for you now? Peter.

    Repairing FJ40 roof leak

I just bought a 1976 FJ40 that is in really great shape. Most of the weather stripping has been replaced, including the seal under the top. I noticed after washing the truck that the roof liner was wet around the inside edges. I then noticed the water stains on the ceiling pad, so I know its...
