Haha, Mark, you are a good man. Yes, I knew better than to try to hide anything from this crew!
Thanks for the feedback; I'll come clean on everything-the classifieds only let me post 5 pics but I may be able to work around it somehow-maybe reply to my own ad...I have photos of the areas you...
I've got my 40 up for sale here:

1974 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40
F155 motor, four speed manual.
Probably over 100k miles, no way of knowing since odometer broke at 56,000. Therefore assume 156,000 minimum.
Recently replaced clutch, cylinder head, oil pan, front axle seals and brakes. Radiator replaced 4 years ago. Starts...
Greetings to 'Mud!
So I've gone through the rite of passage rebuilding my front knuckles and seals, which involved the chiseling of tens of pounds of greasecake, and I have reassembled. Being dirt poor I tried to reuse everything, cleaned and reassembled...I have bled the brakes thoroughly but...
Can I please have your advice on rebuilding my drum brake slave cylinders-I am attempting to rebuild what I have since I am poor. The inner bore of the pressure cylinder should be what kind of finish? I can sand it to 1000 grit, but do I need to go further and try to make it a polished finish...
Thanks for the replies...
Mark, I enjoy my rig too much to sell it-besides I'll never get my investment back so I might as well build it up the best I can and drive it. I will pack the felt in as well as I can..
Cheers,
Dave
Judging from these photos, will the white packing seal work with my parts? It looks like the old one was shaped to fit the inner groove on the retainer. The new white one is rectangular in cross section...Warn coarse spline hub out of a (11/73) 1974 FJ40.
Thanks in advance!
Dave
Thanks sproggy, it's hard to put a price on these things. Also, I assumed anyone searching this site would know about and expect rust on these rigs-except for the frame off restos you mentioned. Guess I'll be keeping her for a while longer!
None yet. True there will be bondo and rust in the rear sill, etc. and the usual rust. But looking at the backside (under the truck) of the sill not much goes though all the way. I welded in stock patch panels because the PO had cut them out and installed flares. The rattle can "sky blue"...
I'm curious what the Mud members think my rig is worth:
For Sale - 1974 FJ40 San Diego, Ca.
It's listed in the classifieds, I'm asking for 12,500. What's your opinions? It's worth at least that to the right buyer, being stock and straight with minimal damage.
Thank you,
Dave
