Can someone post pics of their carb with throttle cable attachments? I need to see where the cable attaches to the bracket and to the throttle.
Thanks
Adam
On the passenger side, I got to the same point then when I took pressure off the axle housing (ie, moved the jack stands) it slid right in. I have gone at this thing from several angles. I can feel the axle seat and it slides in but will not go deeper than this.
Having same problem. Can't seem to get axle seated all the way. Got it to a point where it definitely slid in to a point, but it is still not fully seated. Any ideas?
Hey everyone,
My son recently purchased a '76 fj40. The passenger side of the rear crossmember is damaged from some sort of prior incident. Anyone have experience in repairing, replacing one of these?
Thanks!
Adam
The seals that came in the kit look like Martin Crawler seals. They have the outer lip on them. There is also a testimonial for the kits by Martin Crawler.
A little success...still have some parts to separate, but progress. I used a couple of chisels as shims on each side and was able to inch the arm up and off. The housing then came off. Still need to get the lower part off, remove the top race and get the axle seal out.
Why can't we have Fall...
Hey Everyone,
New to the forum and to a 1976 '40. It's going to be my son's first car.
I'm in the process of doing a knuckle rebuild, because, why not.
I can't get the Arm or the bottom plate off. I have gotten all 8 cone washers out. And have some separation from the housing. See pics...
Sorry. Premature post. At any rate, the linkage has been replaced with a cable and the choke is currently not hooked up. It appears to have a fuel pump. I have obtained a stock air cleaner and I can send more pics if needed. Would like to get one ASAP if you have them in stock.
Thank You!
Adam
