Simple but somehow very satisfying piece to put together!
As soon as it warms up a little I'll be taking the truck outside to run it a up to operating temperature so I can re torque the head bolts and reset the valves before the fenders, bib and hood go on.
That rig was around here for awhile a few years back. Had it in my shop. Looked like he did a decent job on the body work. Not sure if the same fellow owns it but he was looking to sell it back then.
It will be 10 years in November! Finally to the body assembly stage! I'll be looking for engine bay decals soon, maybe even this decade:grinpimp:. Brake booster, air filter housing, coolant surge tank and alternator. Where's the best source?
I stopped in a couple years ago when we were going by. It looks like many of the same ones are still there. I kind of expected then to go south after things opened up again after covid but they aren't giving them away either.
Hey Steve, do you have any idea if any carnivorous plants exist in my area.
If they do I would make a point of looking for them when I'm out on an excursion, ie: hopelessly lost in the bush. LOL
Nice to meet you all and put faces to names! Maybe catch another meeting some time although will likely not ever get the 45 down there. There's always cold beer here if any of you get up this way though!
Not sure if this could be related and no experience with 24v rigs but the 12v rigs get the ground through the windshield frame so will run but not park in the park position with out a ground to the motor. Try running a temporary ground wire from the wiper motor to the battery if you haven't...
A long time getting to this point but sprayed colour! I couldn't find an exact match so this is slightly darker than Free Born Red even though it doesn't really look it in the Picture.
Finished building it! That was one difficult build, let me tell you!
One of my favorite pictures of my 45. The wife had a puzzle made from it at a local photo shop and gave it to me for Christmas.
I'm not sure if they are available from 4wheelauto but I got the hooks from Awl-Teq when Kevin was still selling his own product and they were top notch!
Nearly indistinguishable from factory but heavier duty.

Not sure, like I mentioned, I rarely drive it in the dark. The bit I have used the lights probably was low beams only. It's mothballed until spring now and by the time the salt is off the roads it's light until 9 and that's not much before my bedtime :D
