These days $12k is nothing for a good rig. but not being a mechanic will cost you twice that over the next 20 years.
You should try real hard to learn how to wrench on stuff if your buying 30 plus year old rigs.

TMI. Nice rig. don't freak when you leave the gas cap lose, and the dash lights up like Christmas, and go's into limp home mode. Toyota America is gone full nanny with the 3rd gen.

I thought that myself, until in less than two years my battery would read 12.4 volts. The 13.8 volts is low enough to kill any battery, flooded or AGM.
I've seen countless post on 3rd gen Tacoma having batteries go bad in 1~2 years. Most of the post were flooded batteries.
