So I finally drove the swb45 for the first time in over six years yesterday. The refurbish of the resto is slowly warming up.
Out on the road it didn't take long to discover the carburetor wasn't too happy with my driving schedule. I had grabbed two bags of tools from the lwb just in case, but the swb made it to Burbank without incident. Obviously a carb investigation was in order.
Now keep in mind that this motor was a complete drop in I swapped for in the midst of the original build on the truck. It took several months past the completion before I even got around to changing the oil.
So, carb off the rig, I start the disassembly. I get around to pulling the large sight glass off and WHAT?
THE BLUE PLATE IS ON UPSIDE DOWN!
I have had this truck for 22 years now without having ever touched the carb, entered and trophied in several car shows with it, and NO ONE has noticed that the plate was on upside down.
I was ever so slightly tempted to put it back that way, but I didn't.
The drive home made me smile.
But not enough to keep the truck.
