I posted this in the 24 Volt section too.
I've got 8" PIAA fog lights like this.

In the dash is a primitive toggle switch that has three positions.
One position is Off.
The second causes the fog lights to operate with the parking lights but turns them off if the headlights are turned on.
I believe the third position would allow the fog lights and headlights to be on at the same time. When I first got the truck that was the case. Now the third position does nothing at all.

Here's a diagram of the wires that go into the switch and how they behaved when I put a multimeter on them.

At the front of the truck there are a lot of black and black/white wires that go into a white plastic box.
There's no obvious way to get the box open; I haven't tried to break into yet.
Here's a shot of the box. I guess it holds a relay or two?

Anyone who has info or who can explain how this stuff works, I'd appreciate your comments.
Thanks.

Thanks for the pics.
I'm still not clear on how the fog lights are "switched".
The OEM headlights are switched on the ground side?

They are H4 globes.
I think you are right about re-doing the wiring.
Thanks agai!
