Anyone used California Custom deoxidizer and Purple Metal Polish to get tarnish and pitting off of their aluminum wheels? I have a 2000 lx470 and would like to clean the wheels up.

Thanks!

purple polish works great, and yes you need the deoxidizer. However it won't work with any surface that has a clear coat protection surface. The deoxidizer is basically a light acid etch that removes the top layer of the metal, and then the polish smooths out the new layer of metal underneath. Best to use with a power tool buffer, as doing by hand will take a long time. If the aluminum wheels don't have a protective coating, then purple polish will work.

Thanks!

Mother's PowerBall is a great tool to pair with this. I have used it on many a Porsche rim to get them back ship shape again.
