I recently laced up a set of Chris king r45's and some Hed Belgiums with dt aerolites on the drive side and revolutions on the non drive in rear and think this would be a great combo for a Zurich. Getting an ultralight/über stiff carbon wheel set is basically wasted money on a lemond Zurich depending on your weight. Go for durability and comfort to match the steel Zurich.....with the king/hed combo you will be dropping some noticeable weight over a stocker ultegra wheel set while possibly maximizing stiffness gains without going full carbon IMHO.

may be you can try to build the wheelset ,because my friend have done this, the result is good .so just try it ,

Nice bike. Damn if I'd want to push that chainring where I live though. Give me compact....... (I'm weak!) Or somewhat lazy.

If you want a darn good set of aluminum wheels that are priced right or great carbon wheels, I suggest looking at Boyd. This guy has it dialed in and their customer service is great. We have some Boyd wheels going on 6 years that have NEVER needed truing. Their hubs are rebranded catalog picks but Boyd chose quality stuff.

If you really feel you need to go Gucci carbon with some ENVE, contact these guys for the best builds. They're an online retainer (I try to only work with my LBS always) but are located here in Greenville and operate locally as a "private" LBS. You can literally go into their shop, grab their wrenches and work on your bike, all while drinking their free craft beers. They're rebuilding their website right now so if you don't see what you want, call them. They literally carry everything.

If you want the best made in America hubs and a sweet wheel set, look at Industry 9. My wife runs their i25TL's and loves them. We have I9's on all of our mountain bikes.

^^^^^spot on. ENVE are bomb proof on and off road and I9 is on top of the food chain. I run Chris king on my mtn.bike and have yet to have a problem.

Chris King is bombproof stuff too and also American made. Great stuff.

I have to admit I'm partial to supporting the local folks (I9, Cane Creek) since they're supporters of a lot of things our trail building club does and they're in the south.

I do rock Chris King bottom brackets on a couple of bike, head set on an older one.

Their hubs are great but too complex for me to service at home myself.

Seriously, if anyone is looking for an ENVE build follow the Glory Cycles link. If you want great wheels at a good value (not cheap) check out Boyd.

Interesting note: NAHBS (North American Handmade Bicycle Show) was held this year in Charlotte, NC. After being there a while and several beers down my throat, I commented to a buddy "I'd imagine this is like a porn awards show in Vegas."

Our next vendor stop was the Chris King display. I then told my buddy "Hey look, it's Ron Jeremy!" because this person did indeed look like Ron Jeremy.

Turn out the guy was Chris King.

I told Chris what transpired. We then drank beers together.
