You still need the original FJ62 wiring attached to the A/C Amp: i.e., the blue dash switch, the compressor clutch, the pressure switch, and the thermistor. Everything except the ignition wire from the FJ62 ECU.
It may be good for you to go back at look at the first few posts in this thread. The purpose of the Ignition terminal on the A/C amp in the FJ62 is to inhibit the compressor from engaging during engine start-up. That's because of the feeble 150HP produced by the "mighty" 3FE. ("Mighty" compared...
My '97 is going to look like a piece of trash compared to those vehicles in your pictures. It's trail tested and off-road capable, but has been through some rough trails and not going to win even a photo op spot next to everyone else. But I'll try for May 4th.
It was the last week of May. Pretty sure we could not have made the same trip much earlier in the year. As it was we got bogged down in mud several times, including one location now affectionally known as Subaru Meadows that required several vehicles using linked winch lines plus extensions to...
Not sure why 'mud pulled me back to this thread almost 9 years later (likes by Dan?), but this trip through northern Nevada remains an epic adventure to this day. Firstly, it was absolutely fantastic countryside to explore, with wide ranging scenic views from several mountain tops that were...
Pretty sure your 1st image (the one in color) is the correct one. But it really doesn't matter. The injectors don't care which way they are wired up. They are just electromagnets and don't have any required polarity. The 3FE has as simple as possible fuel injection system. Unlike a modern engine...
I suspect there may be another connector or two hiding in the same area that you haven't discovered yet. Did your LX450 come with seat heaters? If not, then two connectors are for those, although I recall they had more pins than what I see in your photos. There was also a factory center console...
The Toyota OEM switch together with the OEM gauge cluster locker indicator lights makes for, well, a completely OEM look. But it requires a fair amount of effort and time, and involves acquiring the needed parts, removing the gauge cluster, splicing into the OEM wiring harness and incorporating...
Absolutely beautiful work! You didn't have much extra space under the hood to fit in all the bits and pieces in, but you did a fantastic job and it looks like it all came from the factory.
Onur, how about an update? The first day of summer is just around the corner now and you must be itching to get out in the summer breeze with that soft top.
With the new wiring for the vortec done by the previous owner, there's too many potential variables to provide definitive answers to your questions. Sorry. Best thing is to look at the wiring diagram in post #3 and wire the new A/C up based on that. There's no real need for a new relay if you...
Been daily driving mine since 2014 when I bought it new. Light trail use too, where it kicks ass. Never had any major breakage; only normal maintenance items. Mine came with a backup camera which helps a ton with the rear visibility limitations.
