Everything is holding up really well. The only thing I would do different would be to use a spray on sound deadener rather than the strips I used under the liner. Other than that the durability has been excellent. Same qualities as when I first installed it!
The purpose of the project was to create a quieter environment that was also durable and easy to clean. The carpet would have been more difficult to clean mud out of, and I know how we all h8mud!
No idea how it happened. It appears to be a stress fracture near the cam shaft and also at the crank shaft pulley but dang thats a mess-load of strees that I dont remember putting on the beast!
He is a master tech for Toyota and is very familiar with LC's. There is no knock sensor on this vehicle. Intake has been checked prior to purchasing parts.
C'mon man...he probably was just so excited about the newly acquired FJ80 that he posted it here by mistake. Of course he doesnt have a 96 with a 3FE. That would be silly. That would be like an M1/M1A1 tank with an engine from an M60A3. Just silly. :D
