The fixed bracket off the chassis rail seems to be bent backward - is the right?
As I go to install the dampener, the fixed end will pull the pitman arm end down, pushing the taper off vertical, binding inside.
Does this seem right? Do i have to remove the pitman arm to install the dampener?

thanks for your help. i wedged a screw driver into the second leaf, which brought the military wrap lower. once installed the higher wrap sits about 3-5mm lower than chassis rail. solved.
ah good call @lcwizard . I'll double check the bushing tonight.
My gut feel is that i may need to ease the spring and bushes up with a jack and screw driver, then podgy the spring square
i just dont want to tear/ruin the bush...
