    '77 FJ40 - Gear Reduction Starter & Dizzy Upgrade

Thx all for inputs and advice... waiting a little warmer weather to get this installed. GA Arch. does the white female connector in your photo also fit the connector on the new starter? Or did you put on a new connector?

    '77 FJ40 - Gear Reduction Starter & Dizzy Upgrade

I've been looking at this thread with great interest as my current starter doesn't work well in the cold - fails to fully engage. Anyway I picked up a GR starter and am preparing for the install. The discussion and wiring details have been very helpful. But I am having a difficult time...

Windshield washer tubing location '78 FJ40

After further investigation I think the nut for the version that goes at the top of the windshield window is M14-1.00 and difficult to find based on my limited effort. Thx Bill

Mirrors - how about a mirror that works with the OEM or after market arms that are intended for the plastic mirrors that almost universally fail. Frankly what I would like is a mirror that looks similar to OEM but has a better method of clamping on the arm ball - the OEM and after market...

    Cruiser Solution's Frame Components

I just wanted to close this item from my perspective. I ordered both rear leaf spring guesses and frame gussets - all of this arrived without issue and is very well made, probably heavier than OEM. I haven't installed yet but took a variety of measurements between rivet holes and they will be an...

I was just wondering what thickness washers you were planning to use - I haven't actually seen this done, only told that is what I should do. Will look for your upcoming great "assembly photos". Again, what an outstanding job!

Do you have any spec or link info on the type of nylon washers, a McMaster #? Thickness?

    Bambi paint Job

Very nice and glad you did a great job of documenting the process.... Headed along the same path but now at the mechanical stage... By the way a friend said he uses thin nylon washers between painted panels when he has done restoration (not FJ's). Will you be doing something like this? Also...

    Re-building a '78 FJ40 Tubular Tire Rack

Years ago I had a new '78 and as I remember (who can forget their first love) it did not have gaskets (but I never took it apart) - However after taking apart the rack on my new to me '78 it seems that perhaps not when new but gaskets would probably be a good idea upon re-assembly.
