The plug just fits through the cut in the back. I wanted it as far forward so that the map pocket is still functional. I also added foil tape to the insides of the bucket in an attempt to get better light output. LEDs next...

This should be a more definitive answer to the LED vs filiment question. Both in one shot, side by side.

Hey treeroot, If possible could you please advise on part numbers for your above door lamp assembly.
Have searched everywhere online and they don't seem to appear on the aussie models.
Toyodiy lists the parts as: Front- 81230 Rear-81230A...but they seem a little different to yours.
Cheers- also a huge thanks for your effort and details on the def. led thread - have just spent a fortune to try and replicate some of y'all success- will see how we go when order arrives! \m/
