The a750 and a760 are exactly the same transmission housing and gear train. The A750 has all 6 gears. The difference is that the 5 speed doesn't have enough solenoid valves to shift into 6th gear.Aren't they the generally same, with the 6 speed having a 2nd overdrive added?
Turbos are both more reliable and less expensive now than they have ever been. Plus depending on how you drive you may not even get into the turbo all that much, it'd not like it's the 80s.Oh and take out the Turbo as well. I want a naturally aspirated engine behind my Land Cruiser. I'm 29 but I'm not into all this tech stuff. I'd need to see the 250 owners experience for a few years before I think about choosing this over a tailgate Land Cruiser.
Besides the roll up windows. This sounds like what the next gen 4Runner may be. Including the manual transmission.I'd love a Non-Hybrid option for the 1958. Slow 4 cylinder will be fine. 8 speed. With no sunroof and cloth seats. Hell give me a 6 speed manual! Roll up windows. Ya know, more like 1958 in the most modern way. I'd buy one tommorow.
Who knows, maybe we would do little rubber donkey's (because the donkey is the strongest animal for REALLY hard work back in my country) and we will be "donkey-ing" a fellow LC250 owner on the road the same way Jeep families "duck-each" other on the road !.
This would be how my garage would end up with a GX460, a LC250 and a 6th gen 4RunnerAre you confirming somewhere that the 6th gen T4R will have a MT ? Last one was 2000. I had one and regretted selling it.
The 6Th Gen 4Runner will have 4 doors. It won’t have a removable top. It won’t have a SFA. It won’t have a manual transmission. That is my prediction.Besides the roll up windows. This sounds like what the next gen 4Runner may be. Including the manual transmission.
Which is what I'd love. 2 doors optional. Can't see why not with the TNGA platform. Maybe FJ Cruiser style doors. The 6Th Gen 4Runner will have 4 doors. It won’t have a removable top. It won’t have a SFA. It won’t have a manual transmission. That is my prediction.
My gut feeling says, we might see a 2 door LC250 at some point during the production run of the LC250 and most likely within the next few years (in the first half of its life cycle).Which is what I'd love. 2 doors optional. Can't see why not with the TNGA platform. Maybe FJ Cruiser style doors.
I believe the only two markets where the Prado 250 will get the new 2.4l turbo are N America and GCC. The rest of the world is getting the 2.8l Turbo Diesel and in Japan and E Europe a 2.7l NA petrol engine. In Europe we are promised a hybrid version of the 2.8l TD next year. The vast majority of Toyota truck sales in the "global" market are diesel engines, very few petrol engines in fact.I think the majority of 4runners will also have the 2.4 I4 turbo option without the hybrid like global market LC250
New Rivian has them. The one thing I would love that I know I won't see again on a car are wing windows. I haven't had a car with them in 21 years.
Those are pretty small though, like half the size of the ones on my 83 Pickup and attached to a vehicle I would not cross-shop. Nothing against Electric, just not a great fit for me.New Rivian has them.![]()
For whatever reason the manual in the Tacoma comes with a ~ 20% decrease in HP and 30% decrease in TQI think the majority of 4runners will also have the 2.4 I4 turbo option without the hybrid like global market LC250 (with the hybrid maybe only saved for the higher spec 4R), another way to also keep prices down.
Now what would be insane is if they also offered a version with a 6 speed manual just for the hell of it like how they did with the Tacoma.
They probably won't but stranger things have happened.
With a turbo it should be pretty easy to get that back, assuming the turbo has headroom. For whatever reason the manual in the Tacoma comes with a ~ 20% decrease in HP and 30% decrease in TQView attachment 3583862
