Kevin,
I noticed the etching for the Toyota logo on the back gate in your prototype. Do you have dies to actually stamp the logo? If not, would it be possible, or practical to attach the logo-stamped sheet metal from an original gate to one of your gates? Thanks!
FLHJ

No, I don't have the dies to stamp the letters in. Yes, you can use an original stamped panel and my new frame. I am doing exactly that with my red tailgate. I will smooth and patch my stamped panel and replace the frame around it.

Due to the server issue some pictures were lost. flatlandhj had asked for some pictures of the tailgate assembly. I have the following six shots showing various views of tailgate parts.

Another member had mentioned he would like to know what it would cost to ship a bed to Tuscon AZ.

I replied that I was planning to get some quotes to ship a bed to LA, Tuscon, Atlanta, NY etc. - I will do that in the next week to ten days as I have a bed in stock that I can take to a nearby weigh scale for an accurate weight and guesstimate a crate size.

Kevin

henlan,

No I don't have the latches for the tailgate. CCOT sells them for around $30.00 US and I can't make them for any less than that.

Yes - sorry, just busy and forgetful. I'll move it up my list and highlight it for first thing monday.

Yikes - $859.09 us not including the brokerage fees from Calgary to Tucson :eek:

That is from Canadian Freightways who is partnered with several other large carriers.

I've got a few more e-mails out for LTL freight quotes from smaller outfits - I'll post up when I hear back.

67azcruiser,

Sounds like the perfect excuse to go see Alberta in the fall:D I can tell you that the drive up through Coeur d'Alene is wonderful!

Cheers,

Josh

been to Glacier, was awed at going -to-the-Sun Road, awesome views

wouldn't really need an excuse to visit Banff but..................................:hhmm:

Broken down into component parts the whole bed will fit on a standard skid - though the center floor section would stand 82" tall on that skid :D

If you guys wait the year till my 45 is done I'll need excuses for North American expeditions :hhmm:

let's see there's the Teton's or maybe Zion.....Moab, crap AZ got the Grand Canyon:lol::beer:

Been to all of them - though it's been a long time :)

I got another quote here - I imagine their price to Tucson would be similar

Subject: Quotes

Kevin,

Here is what I came up with. I quoted on a 400lb. crated truck bed. Dimensions are 90x30x65, freight class 150. Shipping from you to NY, Atl, and LA. The insurance will be around $40-$60 additional with a declared value of $3,000.

NY = $432 US
Atl = $399 US
LA = $385 US

Let me know what you think!

Thanks

I also now know that US buyers will have to pay about $275.00 (all in) for a broker to get the paperwork to cross the border. If you cart it across yourself it's $45.00.
