If you pop over to the STLCA chapter page, Roger posted up his recovery status.

You know, I noticed that he has not come by here in a while. I was kind of wondering what had happened to Roger.

I did not know that Roger had surgery. hope he gets well and wish him a speedy recovery.

I am alive, well and complaining. Had the left hip replaced on Jan. 19, had the staples removed yesterday and was allowed to go to full weight bearing on the hip. And of course the winter weather hit while I was confined at home and dial up connection went to s**t, could not even open a web page for over a week. Hope to be back in the shop tomorrow or next day to continue work on FJ-60 project, I have stripped the frame, cleaned it , welded all new mounts, painted it and have the 6.5 L turbo diesel, 700 R4 and NP 208 case mounted. The axles have been stripped and new spring hangers and brackets welded on and ready to assembly. Body is sitting on barrels with much of the body work done. I need to get the whole thing assembled, and well tested so it is ready to leave for AK on June 13.

...but then it wouldn't be Roger!

And having goals like that to look forward to just help the mending go faster.

Roger, will you be able to join us at the Roundup? I'll have an extra seat for you if you do...in a rig that's still short enough to get in...and with running boards!;p

Seriously, it wouldn't be the same without you.

Best

Mark A.

Yeah Roger..... what Mark said x2.

Take a break from all the prep work and hang out with your friends at the Round Up in March for a few days.
Happy Trails! N

The Round-up is on my schedule, the one issue is that I need Rob's help to put the body back on the wagon. There are only 3 people at the hatchery where he works and there has to be someone there 24/7, so scheduling a long week end sometimes gets difficult. Right now the week end of Round-Up may be his only chance to come help. We are still trying to work out a better plan, I haven/t missed a Round-up yet and really don't want to miss this one. I have not gotten back to work in the shop yet, my physical therapist chewed me out yesterday and told me to slow down and let the hip heal.
