Not to hijack your thread but do you wheel? I know some places 😁

Also let me know if you need help, I do Fab and machine work.

Hey, this has been done here and done well! Get ahold of Michael of westcoastcruisers.com
Ask about Jan's "Yanmar"

P.S. You guys know that Yanmar engine pictured is actually a Toyota diesel, right?

"The head is almost identical. The yanmar head has more holes for the valve cover, similar to the 1hdfte head. You will need to get the valve cover from a 1hdft. Everything else is identical.
The 1hdft head will bolt straight to your engine, as the yanmar 6lp IS a 1 hdft engine.
Cheers
Jan"

where I live we can get almost anything for 1HD-T and 1HZ...what do you need?
The biggest parts would be exhaust manifold, turbo, turbo air pipe, intake manifold, and injection lines. Is there a possibility anyone down there would ship to the US specifically I am in Maine. Thanks

that should help in figuring out what size bell housing.

leave the rear mount turbo and just let it stick up through the hood, show off that nice turbo
thanks I work for a marine engine dealer so I have the bell housing thing down.

I wonder about using that engine cooled turbo as a dry turbo on a correct manifold.

I think you could use the turbo that came with it but it may be better ti figure that out later when you get the turbo mounted and go with whats the most practicable to use and get everthing routed correctly

I worked bank on a new high flow aftermarket turbo.

The fuel pump is going to be able to deliver a lot of fuel. 13mm pump delivers something like 30%+ more fuel than a stock 12mm HD-FT pump.

Lots of fuel without enough air equals high combustion temps. Without the ocean keeping it all cool, it's not a good thing

Absolutely I'm thinking about actually having my pump shop turn it down a little bit just to be safe I rather have longevity than power

What SAE pattern is it? I bet you could mate up an NV4500, then adapt that to the stock case.

why will I need to change out the valve cover to a 1hdft?

The engine was an part of a insurance claim that is finally done so I am working on getting it now hopefully doing the project this winter

Hi!

Any update on project?

I've bought almost new 6LP-DTE, it's 12 valve, similar to 1HD-T without turbine.

Currently I can't find right info, about the value of turbine boost pressure. Have found dyno test run on youtube, where I see 2,1 bar, but don't know is it before or after intercooler. Any details on that?

unfortunately as of now this has gone nowhere as of yet, in my experience boost on marine engines anyway is read after the intercooler so it will tell if it is dirty

I was just talking to an Aussie today about 6l swap. Seems somewhat common to do in Australia.
