I find my seats heat top nicely with the heater being under the seat.

Interesting. Any first hand knowledge on these?

Because this 55 is going to get used "hard", I'm looking at 4 point harnesses but wasn't sure I wanted to commit to full on "race" style seats.

No first hand knowledge on the elements I linked but I do work with heating elements and it’s pretty straight forward.

I have Twisted Stitch seats in my trail 55 and I will add a heating element to my wife’s side, They offer them in their seats if you’re looking for a racing seat option.

I've done lots of seat heaters in different vehicles. I've had a set in a truck for 6 years now and no issues. The biggest issue is getting the covers on and off. I highly suggest buying a good set of hog ring pliers before starting the project. Newer Ford seats are very easy as their seats are all velcro. I just did an 09 Tundra and it was a real bear. They have lots of splits and hog rigs. J Mack is right the Twisted Stitch seats are top notch.
