John - I'm sure Cali requires a lighted license plate, therefore the 1st option is best as it would be the easiest routing the wires & keeping them hidden. All the others would have exposed wiring.

True on the lights... but I do have these handy buggers:

So hiding the wires with any of them won't be too bad... but yes, the spare tire one does hide REAL well.

I put mine on a tag magnet, on on the highway in the cab on the trail. Problem solved then you can run them on the bumper

I was amused with how they turned out.

Summit sells them as P#DEI 030302. They are by Design Engineering. Pretty good use of $20.

On the bumper mount, if it wasn't for custom plates, I'd almost let them drag... but then again, even if they weren't I'd be inclined to protect them for the "show and go" theory
