I can get some pix of this tomorrow in the day light. It's fairly ugly. I think if you cleaned and painted, it would make it okay. This is what I plan to do in the future.

Mine is quickly become that:crybaby: One panal is gone and others will follow. Maybe a truck liner product to replace it?:p

You'll have 2 flat cross bows, one that holds the dome light. You'll need to scrape off all the glue residue & paint it up. Either run the headliner or cut off the 2 bows & never run it :meh:

I forgot to mention there are "sizable" gaps all the way around the top where the body meets the roof. I covered mine w/ curved pieces of 3/4" square stock. You can't see it due to the cage.

LC_Hamma, are these the two ribs you are talking about?

I have every intention of running a headliner... but the half tinted and half not tinted glass is driving me nuts... as is the now cracked windshield:bang:

Yes, but I guess I'm more shocked that you don't run a roll cage & you have 1 ton axles & this is being built for off road  Now is the time to install one tied to the frame at all points.

X2. I was a bit shocked to see what the factory thought would be sufficiant for roll over safety.
If you can get all the rust/ glue out, it doesn't look too bad. considering the shaved look myself.
Hamma, that's a good looking halo. I was going to do something similar- including penetrating the roof for the rack mount. That way I don't have to worry about my gutters holding whatever I feel like tossing up there.
If my head liner was that bad underneath, I'd try to fix the rust, and cover it back up again. What would a nice stained tounge and groove-ahhh nevermind.

My Piggie was actually rolled once it's in life. We managed to push the bent windshield frame and roof back into place. It's pretty good, except for some dents. This is why I removed the headliner. I think if it was cleaned up and painted it wouldn't be too bad.
I agree though, these roofs are pretty weak.

WOW Jack yours looks pretty clean after removal. I don't expect to have that luck (unless you've done some scraping that I didn't know about).

You need to do a bunch of scraping, I never got all mine off.

It is a lot more loud with no headliner.

Remember a properly installed headliner happens when all the window glass and rubber is removed.

The SOR liner looks great installed.

Given the intended use of this rig, a cage isn't really needed. I'm not intending to do any super extreme wheeling in this rig. Especially since it is getting ramped up for daily driver duties.

Also, don't forget, the 1 tons were forced due to tall engine;)

Ya don't hafta do exteme wheelin to need a cage, but I guess you know what trails NOT to run :meh: I thought the 1 tons were due to you parting out your fj45 wannabe project & on my suggestion

Man after seeing everyone else's headliner I have to clean mine up for sure.

Oh, and FWIW, I have been considering a cage

John, just lose the headliner & install a cage. You & your passengers will appreciate that safety feature more than a pretty headliner :D

Is this what you are looking for? I didn't quite get the B pillar in the shot, but the shoulder belt mount for the front seat is between the B and C pillars and is the leftmost hole, and the mount for the rear seat is between the C and D pillar and is the rightmost hole.

My pig has factory weld nuts on the vertical part of the B pillar. Considered using those for the belt mounts myself. Maybe a 40 style retractable pillar mount belt. Hmmmm.
