When I had my interior out, I put sound deadening all over everything except the firewall (because I left my dash in) and roof and it was definitely worth the effort. Makes a huge difference in road noise and in stereo sound quality. I'll be doing the roof when I rip my headliner out this winter.
I would also peek down into the holes inside along the roof seal to see if there's any early rust forming on the inside.
