WTB: V8 and adapter for conversion

I'm sitting on the fence right now. I have a perfectly good hot rodded 2f going into my rat rod build - just about to reassemble it.

Can't help but think I want 300 horse.

If you have a v8 and adapter to mate to the four speed, I'm interested. I may consider motor, manual tranny and adapter to tcase.

I am not interested in an unknown engine - something that runs and original with low k's (documented) or rebuilt and documented

Not sure that I want efi but brain box should come with it if is efi.

Mike (rugy) is doing a 1hdt 5sp swap in his 60 and he had a pretty sweet v8 setup in the 60 when he bought it . I'm sure it's a documented rebuild.

I'd recommend a muncie Sm465 (or to 420), that first gear is just awesome in a v8 40 combo.

I love my sm465. Behind my 350.

I sold my v8 kit. A few years ago. I had it for sale for like 3 years. Nobody was interested. Too bad ,i almost gave it away. 4sp adapter, sold it dirt cheap. Too bad. Cheers.

This engine is in a friends FJ40 in Vancouver. It had 90,000 kms on it when we removed it from a chevy truck
here from Sampsons Auto parts down near shawnigan lake. That was a few years ago. The truck has been sitting, as
my friend is busy and family now, and is parting the 40 out. Sad rust case. Good running engine. I can connect you two if you wish.

Don't think I'm buying either. Thinking about the work and the fact that I got most the parts to make my rig run, I'm looking for a 2h 5speed to mate up to my 2f instead.

Yes, got it from 4wheel auto, should be here by saturday. Also got all the gaskets etc to mate and service the tcase.
