I have a 96 LC and will be swapping the entire axles over from a LX450 w/factory elockers. Just need the factory wiring harnesses for the LC now.

Check your existing wiring harness, it may already have most of the necessary wiring and connectors built in. A couple of years back, I installed a center differential switch in the panel, the connector was behind the removable cover, and the differential had the actuator motor mounted and connected, just not activated without the necessary switch. The cowl wiring harness I just purchased for my rebuild project seemed to have many extra connectors probably for accessory uses. The tech at Cruiser Parts indicated that Toyota would create the harnesses to cover all possibilities, rather than have unique harnesses for each accessory package. Looking at the FSM wiring manual, you may need a Differential Lock ECU. I'm still an amatuer, but hope this helps.

Looks like you have found all the info you need for the conversion in the posts you listed above. Good luck, have fun, and enjoy.

I have dash harness and full body harnesses if needed ( no axle harnesses )both from a 97 locked

this guy only needs 2 harness wires. Wire, Floor, No. 3 (82163)82163-60051 Wire, Frame, No.2 (82165)82165-60080) the main body harness is already there .

be patient when your working on the No. 3 harness, I did this swap and it was tricky to loosen them out.

I don't think that is correct. He will also need 82161. His harness is short 4 or 5 wires and the plug. Also I don't think he needs 82163. I've done this conversion a half a dozen times. I've never replaced 82163. Only once was the 82161 the locked version in an unlocked 80. That particular one was a 97 LX.
