could you grind bend off newer one, or flatten, then rechrome?

Yes, I could grind and straighten but as you know that post is a different size due to the bend, giving it more room. I know it is all minor detail stuff but sure would like to match the 1962 handle if possible and am kicking myself for misplacing it. We even dropped the baggie of small, micro small parts from the inside of the blinker, three parts bounced out, one bounced all the way down the driveway, the other two about 5 feet away and after about 30 minutes we managed to find each little micro part. lol fjfjfj

you might consider looking into modifying two newer ones since the one you have left has damage at the square portion.
i have a soft door outer with the same issue. i'm planning on finding someone who can repro it for myself and treeroot, if possible.

If that means you have one too many: I am also looking for one. Also need the inside part for the left door. Till what year was the 62 inside lock used?

I will sell you mine for same plus cost of shipping to where you are. Let me know. I need that inside part on my door obviously since I am doing the rebuild but the guy who sold to me might be willing to sell you the inside part, this is, if his 1963 FJ45 had an exact match to your 1962. I just thought about what I wrote. I am quite sure everything changed in 1963 so the inside of his door might be different. fjfjfj
