I can help you on Sunday if you're still working on the birfs then. I can also run off copies of the LC FSM for that job if you don't have anything to go by.

In the spirit of the wrenching weekend, I plan on staying up until the job is done. But thanks for the offer.

I have the FSM, but as we all know the FSM's don't include those handy tips annd tricks on how to do things without SST's. I have several good write-ups as well, especially the one off Roger Brown's site.

Wish me luck.

Mike, About a month ago, my son-in-law was pricing DOM tubing here in Topeka, and 2 X .120 was going for about 3.86 /ft. Pretty high priced, but they also said with the price of steel fluctuating, it could be higher by the time he called back. If you're interested, I could have him check on prices again.

If you could find out where that was I would be greatful. I got a quote in Wichita today of $10.38 a foot for 2"x.120 DOM, and $10.23 for 1 5/8" DOM

Less than $4 a foot is very cheap for DOM. I paid over $6 a foot a year ago at MBTF here in KC

Kinda wondering what kind of tubing my son-in-law inquired about. Just got off the phone, and they told me their Sept '04 price for 2" .120 wall was 6.72/ft. They only have 30 ft of it left, and she told me that the new ordered price would be considerably higher. Let me know fairly soon and I'll give her a call back and pick it up after work today if you want it.

Measure your existing cage Mike.. I only have 1 3/4" die and 3/4" die.. Not sure what Rob has. Sorry In the middle of a huge hospital inspection right now won't be really open to surf again till friday.. I'll probably spend the night don't really need a bed tho! camper is still on the truck!

Sorry guys I can't make it this weekend, just realized the wife works on saturday so that puts me in charge of containing rugrat...

unless...you guys you don't mind an 18month old running the show.. :D didn't think so.

Still working on spousal permission for Sunday...

Matt

OK, I will be there for sure Saturday - still need directions (I know, I've been there once or twice). How much do you want for the spring perch Chris? I really need it - I have (excuse the unintended pun) lost not one but two nuts off the bolt that runs through the welded washer that Craig put on as a temporary fix. So for some reason it is being vibrated off or just can't torque it down enough to get it to stay on, a bit unnerving. The bolt is still tight on the front side where it was not damaged, so I hope I can make it as far as Emporia for the fix.

Ill be there sat and sun (need a place to crash) will be bringing my bender and 1.5 & 2 inch dies as well. I can call MBTF and bring dom if we still need some, just give me a call fri 816-523-8082

Rob

Rob, I got 30' of 2"x.120 DOM in Topeka and if you got the 2" dies we're good to go. I'll be up early Saturday, drop to 40, run the trailer to Topeka for the tube, then be back.

My projects:

1) Install PIG rear axles and find out why my No-Slip is acting up.
2) Front stinger installed
3) Rear cage modifications
4) Valve Adjustment ?????

Chris,

Can you give me some quick directions to the shop? Also if anybody has a right angle drill they could bring along on Saturday it would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,

Scott

I have a right angle drill. Now, if I can remember to bring it....

My project will probably consist of maint on the ford! Clutch bushings, etc.. Not as much fun but it sees more miles with the Cruiser attached to the back of it so it's worthy.

Directions to shop - address is 20 Weaver Street, Emporia, KS We are at the NE corner of South Avenue and Weaver Street.

Scott - 1st Emporia exit (6th Street), turn left, go to top of hill, turn left onto Weaver Street, then left on South Ave. Our gate will be immediately on your left.

Rick - take hwy 50 into Emporia. Turn right at Tyson (Prairie St.). Go over bridge and turn left on South Avenue. Stay on South Ave through the stop light and to the first stop sign you come to. At that SS, we are across the street on the left hand side.

I am bringing my CB power meter if anyone wants to check their cb and antenna.

I am going to try to make it down Sat. afternoon, if not Sunday morning. I have a few small things I would like to work on.

Mike
