Would a GX460 outlast a T4R? (1 Viewer)

The only thing really keeping the GX from being any less trail worthy out of the box is just trimming the front and rear bumpers and removing the running boards. Bang! Same as 4R but with more power and comfort!
But yes, I understand not having a garage, driveway, etc. to be able to tinker on your rig, especially if you're one who loves tinkering! (like myself)

^100% this.

I'm not sure on the 4Rs (thought they just have heater and 470 has AC) but the 3rd zone HVAC has worked really well in my 460 with both the AC evaporator and heater core in the cargo area (if equipped). I don't carry passengers a lot but cabin can't certainly throw substantial cooling in the summer and warmth in the winter. I do wish there were more floor vents when you get into the 3rd row area... as is--just that one in lower left part of picture below

Pics out of brochure in markets outside of NA.

@Acrad The 2nd and 3rd row HVAC is phenomenal in these. Usually they almost always suck but surprisingly even the 3rd row is great. Keeps my daughter cool or warm depending on the time of year. I also use it to help keep groceries from getting too hot in the Texas heat.

I came here to sell you on the 4runner. You’ve sold me on the GX460. Rear hvac is so clutch. Mmmm…. Why does toyota do this to me.

My WW2 humble parents ....who have had very basic vehicles in their life.... still remember my mom hitting the heated rear seater button a couple years back and just told me heading back over pass "this vehicle is so smooth... I know why you bought it... so smooth... my so sore back likes these rear seats."... she had never sat in heated seats before... she had to turn them down in the back because high was too warm.

In summer.... my brother was dropping his window in the 90+ degree heat while my mom was happy with her window closed and the related meat locker rear temps. :)

EDIT: After having a "true" 3rd zone..... I will never sacrifice on a future vehicle... granted even 4+ zone is available now on some vehicles but I think you know what I mean. Heater on a 470 is probably easier to add than AC is on a 4R.

EDIT2: IMO.. if you don't plan to have anyone in rear the rear HVAC options are probably a moot purchase point.. .. my elderly mother cemented it for me for my use case. Again.. your mileage and needs will vary.

The huge reason why I got the Premium was for the third-row AC. Not for some stupid humans, but for my sweet pit bulls. I always blast the A/C for them and they LOVE it.
