Would a 2nd electric fan restrict airflow? (1 Viewer)

After looking it appears like front mounted is the only option- and on my 05 there is a trans cooler on the DS where the fan is mounted on older models. Only place on the newer 03 + 100's is a small open spot on the front PS of the radiator.

Think I would prefer a manually switched aux fan if I had a choice.

I think going with the OEM fan and OEM fan housing is the best setup.
The OEM fan will start working after the A/C pressure exceeds 222 psi using the switch under the driver's side headlamp.
So I already purchased an after market kit complete with toggle..However, I would prefer auto operation as you describe. I will have to look for the switch and see if I can make it work.

What year 100?

Toyota did away with the factory electric condenser fan in 2003. Being in AZ I have found a need for it in our 06 and installed one for cold air when sitting. As for high water temps I have never seen a problem on a 100 series even here in AZ.
"You haven't seen a problem here" I can't seem to find out what a "problem" would be. What is "too hot?"
If I remember correctly, a chevy ran at 220 its entire life. Is that too high for us? My cluster guage is inop so I can't see where it ends up when hot on the UG.

I believe the fan is on the PS (passenger side) on all 100 series.

There's nothing wrong with the cooling system as is and the wiring is already in place to connect it to the other fan so that they work as a pair.
Does anyone have a solid reason not to go ahead with this?
The basic engineering KISS principal.
Never add complexity to a system that works.
