I saw this tool on you tube and watched 4 or 5 videos and decided to buy one. I normally used a couple of sharpening stones to get the job done but even after several years I never could get the edge I needed/wanted. I just couldn't get it even time after time. Today I sharpened 5 kitchen knives, 2 pocket knives, and 1 Cold Steel sheath knife. Each one will shave hair off of my arms. (I realize that type of edge may not be the best for the Cold Steel knife but I just wanted to see if I could do it.)
I just thought I'd pass this on.

I saw this at a gun show and saw how easy the guy sharpened knives. I didn't buy it there but went home and did a search on the Internet to make sure that people who did buy them had no buyers remorse.

All reviews were very good and I found out that they sell these at Northern Tool and there is a store near me. Also found out that this manufacturer also produces the drill doctor drill bit sharpener. So I purchased one.

I have been extremely pleased with it. I have sharpened 40-50 knives with it and really enjoy how user friendly and almost idiot proof it is. I am very pleased with the results....sharp knives.

I second the OP's opinion of this tool. I highly recommend it. If I am not mistaken, Made in USA as well.

I'm sharp freak .. I used to sharpen with the spyderco triangle sharp maker .. and I got the razor blade in any knife I want .. but that it's time and effort consuming when you start from 0 in any common knife ..

The work sharp make the work easy .. but it take a lot from the knife if aren't suing with care ..

I really like the idea, and for the cost compared to 'professional' setups I would love to get one of these for lots of things around the house and garage. But for my hunting knives and other outdoor tools that need a durable, long-lasting edge I'm not entirely convinced... That belt only travels one direction, right? It seems to me that with one side of the sharpening surface moving onto the edge, and the other moving off of the edge this would simply create a very fine burr that would be sharp as h-e-l-l, but not very durable due to the wispy edge material. Isn't that why when using the old-fashioned stone-sharpening method you always stroke the blade edge-forward down the stone on both sides? Even Work Sharp's video for their honing rod shows the knife being moved in that edge-forward fashion...

I have this one, and it puts amazing edges on knives, as well as being able to choose different angles for hunting knives, slicers, cleavers... not all edges should be the same. I put a low angle edge on fine kitchen knives, compound edged on hunting knives... The sanders don't let you control the angle, as well as removing lots of material.
