Starting the jack refurb project. Started sanding but it was taking forever. Plus trying to get into the little nooks and crannies is brutal. So went and bought some sand and will blast tomorrow.

Bummer one of my jack crank retainers is missing a piece. Will have to post up on the wanted section to see if that piece is available.

Maybe that's something @Weber Sarge is reproducing...

They are a heat treated spring steel - I've built a press die to make the form and that works perfectly . Getting the bottom 90* bend is the problem - all the alloys I've tried want to crack due to the tight radius , which is necessary to make the "spring" work . I'm leaning towards one last alloy to try and maybe weld the bottom 90* joint on pulse with a special rod - doubt it will work but who knows...
That is the one issue that is holding up the entire starting handle project .

Little sandblasting action today! No way I could've gotten results like this trying to sand the stuff.

Wonder if this would be a good candidate for 3D printing. It is a little used part so you don't need it to last a ton of cycles, the plastic would give a little bit, and also protect that pretty yellow paint. Thoughts? It would be bulkier but it wouldn't rust! Bolt it to the existing metal "stand".

The weight of the starting handle would be too much for almost any type of plastic , perhaps a heavy glass-filled nylon but I'd still be wary about it possibly coming loose . I doubt anyone would appreciate that thing moving around or shooting forward under heavy braking .
Worst part is testing various design practices in how I manufacture these things - due to liability I can't have any failures .

I saw the BASS - Bass Anglers Sportsman Society - sticker in the rear passenger window and hope it’s still there as you work your way through the rebuild. When I was a kid I was nuts about bass fishing. I saved up lawn mowing money and purchased a membership to BASS. It came with some free lures, a monthly subscription and a BASS sticker which is still on my tackle box. I used to wait by the mailbox for the monthly magazine and read it over and over and over....

I used to fish a lot when I was younger... But sadly haven't fished in ages so took it off. Sorry about that.

Just scored a mother load of Landcruiser parts! I don't even know everything in there but will be sorting through it soon and then posting a bunch for sale. The tall box leaning against my squat rack has a full lower pad set, in excellent shape - it is the one that is intended for the dash without the radio cut out.

This one I'm keeping for sure though and will likely end up on the wall in my office:

Wanted some more cruiser art for my office. Found a bunch of photos of old Cruiser ads and created the below photo. Printed out at Costco in 16x20 and 11x14 for about $11.91! Quarter is in the photo to give reference to the size. This is the 16x20.

So between the organizing of the 75 parts, tearing apart the jack, and attempting to put on the tan bottom/camo top bikini top that came with my 75 on the 74 (with no success at this time since I kept getting sidetracked), I decided to try to clean up the wiper motor housing. It has always been caked with debris/grease. Well one thing led to another and next thing you know I took the entire assembly out. Wasn't too bad but unfortunately the plug housing disintegrated so @Coolerman I'm going to need your help on that. I'll work on getting this thing all cleaned up another day. Hot as heck here and I think it is time to call it a day before I break anything else.
