I bought an 86 4runner, auto, 4cyl with no drivetrain along with an intake, throttle body, fuel rail, injectors, couple of sensors, and the airbox.

Looked it over, noticed the injector plugs had been cut, but the plugs were still there. Paid fair price for the condition of the body (900 to my door). The interior is awesome, seats suck, all plastic is there. Got an ifs rear end in the deal. I felt pretty good.

Today I started messing around with it. The computer is for an 88 22re 5spd. The harness isn't labeled at all and I'm gettin pretty flustered.

Here's why;
I can't find the cold start injection plug or wiring. I have two that match the color code but one plug is black and the other brown. Both have green and black wires coming into it.

I have zero idea what these do from my schematic.

I have one marked water already? Hmm. It may go to the gauge cluster temp?

Here are the last ones I have no idea about.

Picks wont load in order, last pick should be second to show wires to each plug.

I'm confused what you're saying here. Do you mean that there is no trans/transfer, but the engine and components are all there? Or are all those engine parts missing?

Are all the connectors you posted on the engine harness? Or are some of them on the main body harness?

Sorry - no engine, trans, or tcase.

It had an intake, injectors, throttle body, airbox, and resistor with it.

All posted photos are from the harness that comes from the computer on the passenger side. It plugs into a harness under the dash and the computer.

Your photos are too close.

Suggestion: take the harness, lay it flat on the floor, stretched out. Put big tape flags on each connector that you don't know, labeled A, B, C, D, etc. Then take a photo of the whole thing.

BTW the yellow connector laying on the inner fender directly under the brake booster (last photo) is for the O2 sensor. I can see the alternator harness just to the right of the booster.

Alright, will do. I'm currently attaching injector plugs. I don't think it matter if I use 86 injectors and plugs on the 88 harness and computer, or at this point I certainly hope not.

The white connector goes either to the transfer case for your 4x4 light or to the trans for the reverse light. Can't remember which, I knew they were white.

The second black connector looks to be for a fuel injector.

The third pic goes to your starter solenoid on the starter.

The forth looks to be for the IACV if pre 89 harness.

EDIT: for some reason the "quote reply" did not bring the pictures, but this replies to your first post.

The dash is immaculate and the two rear fenders have the same rust, which is minimal. All the plastic is in the back. It's going to go on this frame, and I'm hoping it will allow for fitment of my double tanks.

no it does not, but be VERY careful to not cross up the power and grounds of the injector plugs. The injectors are batched fired from the ECU by means of a switched ground, if connector is not "pinned" correctly you can cause the coil in the injector to burn up.

Did they make different cold start injectors later on in efi years?

What was different was the electrical connection, at some point Toyota changed the style of electrical connectors, I think it was 87-88 time frame. The last thing you want is a mix of early and late connectors.
