Has anyone placed a wireless charging pad under the center console by the shifters? Have been wondering if the material is to thick to allow for a charge. my thoughts are trying an OEM unit, any make, or a generic pad from Amazon or an electronic sites. I don't want to cut the console so application would be under the existing.

I remember a while back @SmokingRocks and a couple others used their center console lid. This gave me the idea of modding one for the center. Believe I would just need to find a charger that puts out enough juice to actually charge the phone. *I also do not have the wood veneer on mine as I know that would preempt any possibility of charging.

Please post if you have thought of this and/or created a wireless solution. I want to keep the center stack stock looking but think this would be a "nice" upgrade. I currently run a charge cable up through the center console, previous owner already made this hole, but don't like the run of the cable.

I have been thinking about options and have purchased a couple setups but after looking at them they aren't really what I want. I grabbed a usb outlet that would replace the cigarette lighter but that will also present a possible cable. I purchased a coiled charge cables but the shortest I have been able to find is 3' and still has a cable randomly running across the center.

Way too thick. I mounted mine up by the vent can grab photo if youd like. Also get the ESR wireless charger with a cooling fan or else your phone will overheat while charging.

Charging pad needs to be within a couple or so millimetres of the back of the phone. The closer the more efficient the coupling/charging.

cheers,
george.
