Has anyone upgraded their wiper switch to a newer style with washer capabilities and retained the original knob?

Thinking this has been done before?

The shafts are a different diameter (older is larger)...

So the threads are obviously off as the old switch slides on and the new switch shaft has a flat spot for the set screw while the old switch has a hole all the way through for the screw.

One idea would be to replace the threaded insert in the old knob with a correct one. Or just fill it and retap with the right size.

Probably should just keep the old setup and use an OEM light pull switch for washers?

But what’s the fun in that?

Ideas?

I’d do the second suggestion by megolfer. IF I did anything.

If the newer switch doesn’t work out and you still want a window washer squirtter I can send you this once I get it removed. It’s an OEM (really!) left-foot floor squirtter pump thingy. You can keep the original wiper switch and knob, too! :p
