Question on the park position in a 71 windshield wiper motor, is there one? We can't get it to park on the SLOW 71. My 76 had one, but stuff changed through the years.

Thanks Guys,

Thanks Guys,

Ron,

Are they trying to tie your Toyota wiper motor into your new wiring harness and switch?

The Toyota motor shorts to ground to park I believe and shorted out my first delay box. They will need a copy of the Toyota wiring schematic and use the factory wiper switch if you want to use that motor unless they know something I don’t. I ended up getting a new modern motor and retrofitting it in so I could run a delay switch and use the new wiring harness as it was designed.

Good luck!

We're using the stock switch and motor. One diagram shows a park and another diagram doesn't. I found one motor in my pile that has, what I believe has a park in it. In the picture you can see the bump up on the gear, with a set of contacts that open when the pin makes contact to the bump. Three other motors I have, do not have that feature.

Thanks guys for the input, this has been very confusing. On a good note, headlights, blinkers, running lights, horn are all working. :)

Got one working today. Out of four motors, two don't park, two do, but makes noise when running. I'll have to take the noisy one apart and see what's up.

J Mack, thanks for the ground tip. He didn't have the body grounded yet, when we tested the motor. Hooked up a ground and it worked!
