got a lockright in the rear yesterday. today, i glued a good l.p. light lens into a good housing, mounted a winch plate on the 76, and ripped into a junkyard rear window regulator to find a good gear! it was a pretty decent morning. :)

going to refresh the junkyard motor, clean brushed, strip the old caked crap off and regrease it, etc, in hopes that it will do better than my barely able to get the window halfway up regulator in the 76 now.

I spent the day taking apart my front axle so I can do a disc swap. I got until I had to take the steering arm off the tie rod end. Need to buy a forked pry bar or whatever it is to get it off. The hammer had no effect.

got some done this weekend. spent a large amount of time with the wire brush on the rear axle. not near as much time as it needs, but the rest is going to have to be with a small brush. managed to get one side of the front end done, but it's almost football time, so i had to stop. i actually started yesterday, got it all torn down, but then it started snowing. quite a difference from the way it used to look...here's clean left side and dirty right side

also found that both sides of the front inner roof are setup for grab handles, but u.s. pigs only have one on the passenger side, so i added one to the drivers side. dont' know why, i'm no where near tall enough to reach it ;)

since money's tight, i added a very cheap winch. i was pleasantly surprised when i got in on the introductory deal on the aussie lockers, so i figured i'd try another introductory deal...i bought a superwinch. review to come soon. have to make a new plate to mount the fairlead (universal mounting plate is drilled to wide for the standard size roller fairlead:rolleyes:) .

also got a full size spare. not soon enough, the entire rig will be back on stock rims.

I've got my axle torn down all the way, now I'm just waiting on the knuckle rebuild kit with the bearings and seals etc. Oh and I got some calipers for cheap so I can turn those in for cores and get some money back.

Woh-man!

Ige,

You really rolled up your sleeves on Montecor, I am impressed. Great job, I've been checking your threads in IPPS and you are kickin ass. I can't wait to see you and the piggy at CM08. If you get into Highway troubles and can't find a rig that'll go over 70mph, call my cell and I'll come help out. (I think he'll make it though, never ran really hot.
